We review the Aura Dress from Papercut Patterns recent new release of styles!
When Papercut Patterns released their most recent range of new patterns we couldn't wait to give the Aura Dress a try! With those statement puffy sleeves, cute v-neck and tie, we knew this pattern would be a winner! Dress it up for a festive occasion or wear it on the daily, this dress is an all-rounder. We've sewn it up in our Caper Vintage Finish Linen, available in stores and online. Read on for our full review, modelled by Nicky!
Papercut Patterns Aura Dress / Skirt
A statement piece you can wear all year round, this wrap style dress features an elegant wide v-neck, captivating balloon sleeves and a curve shaped wrap piece connecting to the ties which can be wrapped round to sit at the front or back. The Skirt version would be fab paired with a sneaker, heel or boot for year-round wearing as would the dress layered with leggings and boots for the cooler seasons and fresh in a light cotton with sandals for warm weather!
We made a Papercut size 8 (size NZ & UK 20) for Nicky using 3.3 metres of our Caper Vintage Finish Linen (140cm wide) and needed 1 metre of our White Stayflex Fusible Interfacing. No modifications to the pattern or sewing adjustments were made and we think the fit looks perfect on Nicky! Now we can't wait to try out the skirt version too.
Caper Vintage Finish Linen
We love the drape and subtle sheen the linen lends to this style! We're pretty obsessed with the idea of a two-tone colour blocked version, inspired by Sonya from our Brisbane team's wonderful dress here! There's so many fun colour combinations to dream up from our Vintage Finish Linen range or even two Gingham Linen colours, the options are endless.
