Auckland, New Zealand HQ — Marketing Assistant
One of our most popular jobs in The Fabric Store HQ has just opened up – Marketing Assistant!
We’re on the hunt for a strategic creative thinker with a knack for playful social media content creation and ideally a love of sewing to match! If you thrive in a fast-paced environment where you can make a direct impact on sales success through marketing activations, this could be the role for you.
About the Role: As a TFS Marketing Assistant, you will play a vital role in our small marketing team in our Auckland HQ, working closely with the Marketing Manager to develop and deliver engaging marketing content that resonates with our niche audience. You will be responsible for assisting in both paid and organic marketing campaigns, as well as photography, content creation and social engagement, ensuring our brand is positioned in a compelling, fun and innovative way across our platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the creation and delivery of marketing content to support business initiatives.
- Collaborate with the Marketing Manager to create and execute social media strategies.
- Generate unique, fun, aspirational and engaging content that aligns with our brand voice and business goals.
- Coordinate our social media schedule and engagement activities, and ensure timely delivery of content.
- Assist with analysing social media performance and provide insights to optimize channels.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest social media trends and digital technologies.
- Website Product photography for all incoming fabric and product.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams, including the Marketing, Online and Distribution teams.
About You:
- Positive mindset, excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Strong understanding of Adobe Creative Cloud, social media platforms and emerging digital technologies.
- Evidence of creative skills, including social copy writing, design thinking, and content creation.
- Knowledge of video making, editing and photography.
- Familiarity with the retail industry and its KPIs.
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong personal time management skills.
- Ability to work independently, adapt to changing priorities, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- A proactive, collaborative approach with a passion for social marketing.
- Basic experience with Shopify and Klaviyo is desirable.

Melbourne Store — Casual Retail Assistant
Are you passionate about fabrics and fashion? We're seeking a fabric-loving individual to join our team as a casual Retail Assistant at our busy store on Brunswick Street, Fitzroy. The ideal candidate will possess a genuine love for fabric, coupled with knowledge of garment construction, and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide outstanding customer service to ensure a memorable shopping experience.
- Proactively achieve sales targets through effective communication and product knowledge.
- Collaborate with team members to maintain a positive and efficient store environment.
Requirements:
- Enthusiasm for our products and the textile industry.

- Previous retail experience is advantageous but not essential.

We’re constantly on the lookout for retail talent! What we look for: For all of our retail store roles, we look to hire fabric-loving individuals and the ideal candidates will be those able to deliver exceptional customer service. You’ll also have a genuine love for fabric, as well as garment construction knowledge. In our retail positions, you will need to be pro-active in achieving sales targets and be passionate about providing a high level of customer service at all times. Previous retail experience is an advantage, however the ability to work in a team, passion for our product, and the right knowledge/skillset are the most important factors for us when hiring for our retail stores. The successful candidate will have an innate love for beautiful fabrics and will be excited to work in a creative and inspiring environment. This is a great opportunity to join a mindful, fun, and energetic company in the fashion and textile industry.
