It's wintertime here in New Zealand, and a pair of warm cosy pyjamas are top of our wishlists! Our Make by TFS Sparrow set of patterns offers a modern alternative for lounge and everyday essentials, perfect for beginner sewists with just a little sewing experience. This set pictured makes use of our Starburst Dot Brushed Cotton Twill in Ash Marle, which has just been priced to clear! Read on for more, kindly modelled by HQ team member Olivia.
We love Sparrow! Our Sparrow Set features the full bundle of Sparrow patterns — the Sparrow Shirt and the Sparrow Pant + Short. A dreamy balance of simplicity, clean lines and unrestrictive comfort, the Sparrow Set is perfect for wearing in bed or out! Sparrow also makes a delightful match with our Make by TFS Lucie Robe, for ultimate luxurious loungewear vibes.
The Sparrow Shirt features a wide boxy cut with a relaxed shoulder, single front patch-pocket, turned down collar and ¾ popover button placket. We made ours up with a full length sleeve and the total meterage was about 1.3m.
The Sparrow Pant + Short features a wide straight fit through the leg, with a simple elasticated waist, drawstring, and in-seam pockets. The pattern also offers a shorts indication line, if you want to make a pair up for warmer weather. Our size 10 paired here used approximately 2.2m of this 146cm wide cotton fabric, plus some 50mm wide white elastic.
