Steph's Lea Bias Dress

This week we're featuring marketing team member Steph's new bright pink Soften Studio Lea Dress!
Lea is a recent release from Soften Studio, a bias cut loose-fitting pullover style dress with a scoop neckline. We're loving this hot-off-the-press and party ready version made by Steph, using an incredible pink crepe! Read more below.
Lea Bias Dress — Soften Studio
Designed to be layered throughout the seasons, this simple and flattering bias cut dress features bust darts and a centre back seam for subtle shaping. Steph made a size 12 using 2.5m of Lipstick Pink Wool Crepe, and made a couple of adjustments to the centre back seam to allow it to fit her upper back smoothly. Steph is an advanced sewist, and she chose to finish the dress with french seams and stabiliser tape.
Soften Studio recommend this pattern for an advanced beginner pattern, and Steph agrees! She said the crepe made it a little more tricky, being quite slippery to cut on the bias, but overall it was a simple sew. As always with Soften Studio, the instructions included with the pattern were very well written and beautifully laid out. We love the chic finish that the wool crepe gives this dress, perfect for parties but easy enough to pair with a jacket for a more casual feel!
