Lunch Bag by Miss Freckles Design

This pattern is a simple PDF download available from Miss Freckles Design store on Etsy here. The bag is a durable roll-down style, and can be made up with an optional thermal insulated layer. Perfect for lunches on the go, this secure bag can also be used for all manner of other things; we're thinking of sewing project bits and pieces on the go, stashing baby gear, or even use as a general all-round carry bag.

The pattern comes with two bag size options (we made up the large) and well-written instructions. We found the steps concise and easy to follow, with nice illustrations throughout. Following our plastic-free mantra, we omitted the buckle and made up a fabric tie instead, which works a treat as a closure for the top! Sturdy heavyweight fabrics with no stretch are recommended for this bag! We used 70cm of our autumnal Cotton Blend Canvas - Cinnamon Stick and 45cm of Tattersall Check Cotton Shirting - Lipstick for lining. We also opted to interface both the outer and the lining with Fusible Interfacing - Stayflex / White. Our Heavyweight Linen would work nicely for this project, colours below Dusky Orchid, Chestnut, Army and Carob.
