This week we're showcasing Bianca's new denim set, featuring two wardrobe staple patterns and some amazing embroidery!

Online team member Bianca has spent the last few months working on this incredible matching denim set using our popular Make by TFS May Jean pattern and the Russafa Jacket by Pauline Alice patterns. Read on for her project notes, inspo and photos of her intricate machine embroidery!

Project Notes

Patterns used — Make By TFS May Jeans + Russafa Jacket

Bianca picked Upcycled Denim in the colour Lake for this set, and we love how the embroidery pops on this deep blue! She used approximately 3m for both garments, making a size 10 pair of May Jeans and a size small Russafa Jacket. For pocketing she chose Liberty Tana Lawn - Flora Belle, and also used a jeans zip, buttons from her stash and various top stitching threads (about 20 spools). Bianca's an advanced sewist so these two patterns were well within her skill level. The whole project, including all that beautiful embroidery, took her many hours across the last few months, and she's so excited to have such special pieces in her wardrobe. She's looking forward to not only wearing this as a set, but also mixing and matching these two pieces with different things in her wardrobe, from summer dresses to crisp shirts, and colourful t-shirts!

"I love the retro shapes of these garments and thought it would be a great opportunity to put my recently inherited Pfaff 1471 embroidery machine to use. The machine belonged to my gran and was made in 1985, so I thought this project would be the perfect test for its skills!"
