Yari Jumpsuit

Read our review of the Yari Jumpsuit by True Bias, featuring Heavyweight Linen in Duck Egg!
We've heard so many great things about the Yari Jumpsuit and after sewing up our own, we'd have to agree! It's an ultra cute wearable style featuring a V neckline with a button front and angled pockets set into subtle princess seaming. Our HQ team jumpsuit-wearers are all keen on versions of this for the New Zealand summer ahead!
One of the best things about the Yari pattern are the options! The pattern offers two different lengths as well as a sleeveless or extended sleeve/sleeve band option. There is also an added option of side ties that fasten with a D-ring to accentuate the waistline.
We sewed our Yari up in a size 2 for the lovely Briar to give an oversized casual fit! It has a relaxed feel with plenty of space through the body, so would be comfy on a hot summer’s day. It also gives enough room to pop a long sleeve layer underneath, so would transition between seasons well too.
The pattern comes with detailed instructions, offering a handy glossary of techniques and gives advice on how to adjust the length properly along with good preparation instructions and a measurement chart. This pattern is recommended for an intermediate sewer which we would agree with, as it requires the construction of a button placket, pockets and a D-ring waist tie as well as buttonholes.
The Yari Jumpsuit pattern is available to purchase as a hard copy or a print-at-home PDF download from the True Bias website.
True Bias suggest that this jumpsuit would work best in medium weight woven fabrics such as linen, chambray, silk noil, and rayon challis. We're moving towards summertime here in New Zealand, so we decided to make our jumpsuit up in our beautiful Heavyweight Linen – Duck Egg. We 're loving the vintage vibes this colour lends! This jumpsuit style would also work beautifully in a printed or striped linen, a lightweight denim or chambray or even a soft rayon crepe for a stylish evening look.

We just love this pattern! Jumpsuit styles can be a little tricky to get right, but the Yari from True Bias definitely hits the mark. If you decide to make one up of your own, we'd love to see it! Tag us on Instagram @wearethefabricstore or by using #thefabricstore
