Our team are a talented bunch! Online assistant Bianca is a trapeze star and this week we thought you'd like to see these brilliant new activewear sets she made for herself and trapeze partner and friend, Craig. Bianca used soft and stretchy merino ponte and boucle fabrics, with a bunch of activewear-friendly patterns! Read on below for details and photos, very kindly modelled by Bianca and Craig. Go team!

"We have been doing Static Duo Trapeze together for about three years now, as well as Aerial Silks for six years. Both are aerial circus practices and are great for getting strong both physically and mentally! Partnering in the air is a challenge, but a fun one! As a duo you quickly learn to trust, connect, and communicate with each other while exploring duo trapeze."

Project Notes

Bianca is wearing the Quarter Zip Jumper by Dressmaking Amóre, in size XS made with 1.5m of black Heavyweight Merino Boucle. She said this was a simple pattern to sew and made up to a very comfy fit! She especially loves the cropped length, shaped collar, and the elasticated cuff. This pattern gets a big practical tick for circus training! Bianca paired her jersey with a bike shorts and top set, using the Gym Shorts pattern from Swimstyle, and the Eva Mock Neck Top pattern in View A from Cool Stitches. She'd highly recommend the bike shorts for anyone wanting to try this look, and said the pattern was quick and easy, using just 0.5m of Merino Ponte for her size XS. She'll be wearing them for hiking, under ski pants and on cold days in the circus studio. Her cute top used 0.7m of Merino Ponte for the smallest size, and she adores the contrast exposed seams! The fit ended up being snug and cosy, and Bianca's looking forward to making cotton versions for summer!

To make the matching set for Craig, Bianca used our Make by TFS Fog Tee, customising the pattern to a slim tank fit, using 1m of Merino Ponte for a size 4. She very cleverly added some exposed design lines to mimic the shaping of her own Eva Top, which we think looks spot on! Snug fitting tops are essential for trapeze activities, and this pattern made for an easy hack. To pair with the top, Bianca made Craig a pair of Make by TFS Cloud Pants in size 8, lengthening the leg by 10cm. She used 1.25m of Heavyweight Merino Boucle and Craig said they were the most insulating and comfortable merino he's ever worn - "Putting them on felt like I had curled myself into a cosy corner with a book and a coffee"!

"I'm planning to make this mock neck top up in our Recycled Poly Swim Jersey - Citrus Glow as I think it would make a super cool rash shirt for surfing!"
