Fashion Revolution Week is here and our teams are getting involved! The aim? To amplify the #FashRev campaign for transparency within clothing and textile supply chains, and to promote slow sewing by inspiring others with #IMadeMyClothes!

Fashion Revolution Week is an annual campaign bringing together the world’s largest fashion activism movement for seven days of action. The theme for 2023 is a return to Fashion Revolution's ten core aims, which you can read here. There’s no doubt a daunting and ever-growing mountain of issues stemming from the fashion industry, from overconsumption to pollution, waste, exploitative labour, and animal welfare violations. You name it. Despite this, we remain firmly positive about the possibilities of the future! The core idea of community, and what can be achieved collectively, plays a big part. We’re constantly floored by the desire of our customers and followers for knowledge and upskilling, and the sewing world is amplified by a sense of constant interconnectedness.

Making your own clothing requires time, patience and skill, and we’re grateful to have many sewists in our TFS team who genuinely understand the value of slow fashion and slow sewing. In celebration of Fashion Revolution Week (22nd-29th), a handful of our team members across New Zealand and Australia have been sharing their creations with us, read below. We hope this inspires you to share your own projects using #IMadeMyClothes!

P.s. During Fashion Revolution Week there are loads of community events! Check out the global calendar to see what's happening near you.
