Sizing + Fit
The Leo Blazer comes in our NZ 4-32 size range and is a casual fit with a soft shoulder. Note, this is not a close fitting style. We recommend referring to both the garment measurements and the body measurements when selecting a size, regardless of what size you wear in ready-to-wear clothing. Remember to consider what you will be wearing underneath your coat when choosing your size!
A hand made blazer is a considerable investment and a garment that is designed for maximum longevity in your wardrobe. We strongly recommend sewing a toile (sample garment) in a calico fabric (or similar) prior to cutting your final blazer. This will ensure you have the opportunity to make any alterations in length or fit to the blazer pattern using an inexpensive fabric. Sewing a toile requires additional time, but we consider this time well spent for a project of this type.
Our patterns are drafted for a height of 172cm (5'7"). You may wish to lengthen or shorten the body and sleeve hem depending on your height and personal preference and change the location of the pockets. If you wish to adjust the fit through the bust, we recommend using the bust apex points provided on the patterns.
