One Pattern, Two Views
Poppy has two views, providing alternative length options for year-round wardrobe pairing! View A offered in full length makes for a cosy wrapped-a-blanket feel. If you're after something a little lighter, our mid-length Poppy makes for an ultra-classic jacket with the same detailing and sculptural feel as View A. Perfect for pairing with Cass Pants and your favourite knitwear! Body and sleeve hem lengths can be easily adjusted using the indication lines provided on the pattern too.
Sizing + Fit
The Poppy Coat comes in our NZ 4-32 size range and is an oversized fit with long raglan sleeves. We recommend referring to both the garment measurements and the body measurements when selecting a size, regardless of what size you wear in ready-to-wear clothing. Remember to consider what you will be wearing underneath your coat when choosing your size!
A hand made coat is a considerable investment and a garment that is designed for maximum longevity in your wardrobe. We strongly recommend sewing a toile (sample garment) in a calico fabric (or similar) prior to cutting your final coat. This will ensure you have the opportunity to make any alterations in length or fit to the coat pattern using an inexpensive fabric. Sewing a toile requires additional time, but we consider this time well spent for a project of this type.
Our patterns are drafted for a height of 172cm (5'7"). You may wish to lengthen or shorten the body and sleeve hem depending on your height and personal preference and change the location of the pockets. If you wish to adjust the fit through the bust, we recommend using the bust apex points provided on the patterns.
