Project Notes
Bianca's had her eye on the Nepheline Blouse by Vivian Shao Chen for a long time, as she love the ruffles. She said the blouse feels very feminine and she's been trying to incorporate more pretty and girly garments into my wardrobe in a way that feels right to her. Love!
Bianca says - "The Hot Dang patches went so well with my tattoos, but I also love the shape of the sleeve on this pattern. I couldn't decide which option I wanted to go with - show off the tattoos with matchy iron on art, or have a beautiful sleeve? So, I opted out of the choice and made the sleeves detachable instead! I used bias binding to make ties, and the sleeves can easily be taken on and off. The best of both worlds!"
Bianca chose the D cup in size 5, and this took 2m of Lavender Cotton Poplin. She used 6m of bias bindings, threads, and Hot Dang Press iron on art from the Summer Berries and a few other sample sets. The entire make took her about three days of leisurely sewing with lots of breaks. She said the pattern came together very easily, and the instructions were very clear. The sizing was as described, and she's very happy with the fit. It will be lovely and light for summer!
"Lilac and green is my current favourite colour pairing, and I can't go past a lovely smooth organic cotton. So when this lovely cotton came through our doors I knew I had to make something!"
Bianca's thoughts - "I will definitely be using the Hot Dang Iron Ons again. They were so fun to play around with and are really easy to apply. I can't wait to try using them for some mending - they will be perfect for covering stains on garments or giving them a bit more fun and character to get a lot more wear out of them."
