Staff Made — Charlotte's Camille Dress

Charlotte has made a beautiful Madswick Studio Camille Chemise dress, in a fresh blue-toned floral cotton poplin! Check out the details and photos below.

Charlotte says - "I love a dark floral, and I thought this particular print suited the pattern beautifully. I also liked that it felt floral and feminine without being too sweet or cutesy. And, of course, I had to make a matching oversized bow to fully lean into the prairie-chic vibe!"

Project Notes

Charlotte used 4.5m of our Mini Garden Cotton Poplin - Midnight, and made a size 9 Madswick Studio Camille Chemise. Charlotte loves a flowy dress and puff sleeve, and said she was immediately drawn to this pattern with it's pretty neckline. She adjusted the neckline a little higher at the back for coverage, and finished the inside of the dress with French seams and added bias binding around the sleeves. Charlotte said this type of finishing takes a little longer, but the result feels more considered and should wear better over time. She was really impressed with this pattern and said the instructions were clear, detailed and easy to follow. The finished garment came together beautifully!

" I think I’ll get a lot of wear out of this in summer. It’s such an easy, throw-on-and-go silhouette, while still feeling really put together. I think it will look particularly cute with a pair of ballet flats or some simple sandals!"
