Staff Made - Jade's Saundra Skirt

This cute Saundra Skirt was made by Jade from our head office team! Crisp seersucker cotton gives the silhouette a textural twist and summery feel. Check out Jade's project details and photos below.

Jade says - "I’ve spotted a few people wearing beautiful godet skirts recently, and was in awe of the way they look when moving and how they fall when standing still. I came across the Saundra Skirt and it was perfect for what I had been envisioning!"

Project Notes

Jade made up a size 10 Saundra Skirt using 3.9m of our Tonal Stripe Stretch Cotton in the summery blue colourway 'Sky'. She loves the colour and the subtle seersucker that appears when you wash this fabric. Jade found the pattern to be an easy sew, with very clear and detailed instructions, and the whole project took her about 4 hours. She sized down based on the pattern measurements, and feels the elastic is sitting a little too loose, so in future would size down again. No changes were made to the pattern. Jade mentioned she'd love to make this again in white, but alter the pattern to be fitted in the waist with an invisible zip in the side seam. She's also planning a lined version in this silk cotton organdy, as the structure and sheerness of the fabric would compliment the godets!

"The godets are so satisfying to sew, and I highly recommend taking the time to line your needle up to the exact points as marked on the pattern which results in beautiful precise godet points!"

"I’m already dreaming up summer projects for the other colours of this fabric especially the white - maybe another Saundra skirt, or a Bloom Shirt!"
