The TFS team have been loving our reversible chocolate leatherette! This designer surplus fabric has been knitted with a grey poly double jersey reverse, and a bonded face with a smooth leather look coating. With mechanical width stretch, an opaque finish and structured drape, this fabric makes a fun option for leather look wardrobe additions!

Lachy and from our Auckland store team has made the coolest bomber jacket!
Lachy used the Grasser jacket pattern #1322 and says - "Sewing with the leatherette was way easier than I thought! I’d recommend a Teflon foot, putting a piece of smooth tape on the underside of a regular metal foot works great too! Especially when topstitching over the leatherette. I used little clips rather than pins as they would’ve left permanent holes in the leatherette. This pattern was super easy to follow with its step-by-step instructions, though lining up the front pockets can be a bit tricky I’d recommend this to any intermediate/confident beginner sewist!"
Lily made the cutest leatherette cat bag using this Cat Face Kitty Bag from Etsy!
Lily says - "Topstitching thread worked well on the leatherette – easier than I thought to sew! Especially when your sewing right sides together – the faux suede side is easy to sew. They had a full video and photo instruction and the bag is a simple pattern so was super easy to follow and construct – a great make if you have little remnants or scraps laying around because it really dosen’t use much fabric. I made the straps extra long as its preferred for me."
