The wonderfully creative Genevieve from our HQ team has made a Sadie Slip Dress using our incredible new Road Trip silk satin print! She's paired it with an embellished merino tee, the perfect balance of practical and cute. Check out details and photos below!

Dress Details - Sadie Slip Dress

Genevieve made a size S Sadie Slip Dress pattern from Tessuti, using 2.2m of our Road Strip Silk Satin. She took the hem up approx 5cm, and cut her straps on the straight grain instead of the bias as the satin wouldn't sit right, a great choice as the end result looks perfect! 

Top Silk Tip - "Hang up on a hanger for 24 hours before hemming. Bias cut tends to drop a little once the fabric relaxes into it's bias, so to avoid an uneven hem, let it hang first!"

Love the tee underneath?

Genevieve used a Unisex Tee pattern in black merino jersey, and screen printed the flowers onto the sleeves. Regular readers might recall that she is also a huge fan of cute embellishments! Zoom in for little rhinestones in the centre of the flowers on her right arm, such fun!

Top Merino Tips - Upping your differential feed on your overlocker makes all the difference with knits. If too low, your seams will wave and not sit flat. Hemming best done with an overlocker edge and a twin needle and up stitch length to around 3.5 to allow a better zig-zag on the underside and more stretch.
