Elbe Textiles - Solberg Jacket
The Solberg Jacket is an elevated layering piece, designed for woven fabric.
Both views have a relaxed fit with a drop shoulder and 3/4 length sleeves. The back has pleats opening up at the waist and the front features topstitched seamlines.
The opening of the jacket is finished off with a facing, topstitched in place.
View A is a plain front, while View B has an additional asymmetrical panel that closes with straps and a D ring closure. This sewing pattern is suitable for intermediate sewers and above.
Sizes Available: A to M - see size chart in images
Please note: This is my menswear size chart. But this is a gender neutral style and I’m sure a range of bodies will wear this. So when looking at this size chart, please focus on the chest measurement when choosing your size, and not the hip. If in doubt, check the finished garment measurements below. There is ample ease allowed in this pattern and the pattern is laid out in a way to make it easy to grade between sizes.
This pattern has been drafted for a height of 5'10.
It’s recommended to make a toile first in an inexpensive fabric to work out any fitting alterations you may need, before cutting into your chosen fabric.
Finished Garment Measurement: See chart in images
Suggested Fabrics: Mid weight woven fabrics - washed linen, linen/viscose, cotton, Tencel, hemp. Please note: If you’re using a patterned fabric with a repeat that you’d like to match, you may need more fabric than what is suggested. Use your discretion. Ensure your fabric is washed and ironed before cutting.

- Matching thread to your fabric.
- 2x 40mm D-rings (View B only)
- 1metre of bias binding (2.5cm / 1inch wide) Can be made from leftover fabric (View B only)
