TFS HQ team member Charlotte made up a pair of Make by TFS May Jeans recently, perfect for our cooler autumnal weather! Read on for photos and project details.

Project Notes

Charlotte made a size 18 May Jean, using the shaped leg view. This took 1.7m of our 11oz Cream Weft Denim in the colour Black Ink, some stash cotton for pocket bags, 1x Matt Translucent Button 23mm – Pebble, threads and calico for her toile. Charlotte is an experienced sewist and was able to successfully make a few modifications to her toile. She shortened the rise by 2cm, tapered approximately 3cm off the side seams at the waist, took the back yoke in by 2cm at the centre back and shorted the leg length. She loves the fit and said she'll definitely be making more versions of the pattern!

Charlotte says — "This was my first time making a proper toile and I’m a convert! Sewing the toile did mean that the project took a little longer, but it meant that the sewing of the actual jeans went so smoothly and they fit so, so much better!"
